Con\u00e7u en coop\u00e9ration avec l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 du Texas \u00e0 Austin, ce processeur sera capable d&rsquo;ex\u00e9cuter plus d&rsquo;un milliard d&rsquo;op\u00e9rations \u00e0 la seconde !<br \/>\nPour certains analystes, c&rsquo;est l\u00e0 l&rsquo;indication d&rsquo;une nouvelle strat\u00e9gie d&rsquo;IBM qui veut se positionner comme le champion des super-calculateurs, face \u00e0 Intel, par exemple. <\/p>\n<p>Si la marque aux Pentium pr\u00e9pare une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de processeurs \u00e0 double noyau, utilisant la technologie &lsquo;hyperthreading&rsquo;, de son c\u00f4t\u00e9, IBM veut assurer, d&rsquo;ici 2005, la rel\u00e8ve de la technologie Trips (ou Tera-op Reliable Intelligently Adaptive Processing System).<\/p>\n<p>Le nouveau prototype, qui aura \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 en 5 ans, sera d\u00e9clin\u00e9 sur 4 c\u0153urs ou noyaux.
